ICC discipleship aims at facilitating a Christian learning environment where:

  1. Seekers can connect with God and God’s family
  2. Faithful disciples can grow to maturity
  3. The local body of Christ can live in authentic relationships that offer accountability
  4. Spiritually mature lay leaders can be developed and commissioned for service

Ephesians 4:12-14: For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ: That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive…”

This learning environment will be characterized by moments of: Instruction; Modeling; Peer accountability and Small group interaction and accountability

  1. Our mission, vision and goals, informs our discipleship process.
  2. Our key growth processes are: Connect, Challenge, Change.
  3. The aim in our discipleship is Spiritual formation that results in:
    1. Visible on-going engagement of the congregant in the life of the church.
    2. A spiritual transformation that should be seen in the congregant’s attitudes (God, toward himself, and others).
    3. An open engagement in the mission agenda of God

Through spiritual formation, turning seekers and mere church attendees to commissioned leaders empowered for the works of service to serve the church and transform the world.
